At the recent Ceangail CIC Board meeting, the Chair reported that its longest-serving member had stepped down after 7 successful years with the social enterprise.
It was back in 2014 when Ceangail had just started trading and had delivered its first event in Stirling, that Cat had volunteered at the Stirling Highland Games event. She had enjoyed the experience so much that she approached us to ask if there was anything else she could do to get involved. Later that month, following a catch-up with our Executive Director Matt McGrandles, she joined him on the Board of the social enterprise overseeing the volunteer experience including attracting more volunteers to support our work.
“It has been a pleasure working with Cat over these last 7 years,” explained Matt. “She has been so passionate about volunteering and the work we do to support young people on our training programmes. We are all a bit jealous of her new life aboard in the sun as she takes on a new challenge. The Board wish her all the best and hopes she can return to us in Stirling at some point to maybe enjoy coming along to our event as a visitor.”
Cat has volunteered at the Stirling Highland Games event since 2014, holding various positions including site control and more recently as the Chieftains Host. She is pictured with Simone Lahbib, the 2018 Stirling Highland Games Chieftain.
